In 2013 a survey was conducted among 365 developers by a US firm specializing in marketing services and market strategies for applications. The main lines of the survey allow to realize that when it is a question of generating income from their applications, developers do not know which way to turn. 29 % admit not to make the marketing for their applications. And for those who resort to it, 12 % assert having campaigned during a period of month only.The findings of this survey were:

  1. Most developers do not use advertising to increase the visibility of their applications.
  2. Almost a third of developers do not take advantage of social networks for marketing their applications.
  3. Mobile platform also has an impact on revenue generation by the application. On this side, the report found that the development for iOS is much more profitable than development for Google Android.

Marketing professions are changing as related to that technology. Digital skills and analysis of data (Big Data) transform in depth.
Companies that have the most growth are those that bring digital tools to serve their business.
